I get quite a few ideas and lines from movies I watch or books I read. What kinds of movies have you found inspiring for writing...or that you just like?

Definitely the LOTR movies. They're very inspirational to me because of the storytelling and the cinematography. Prince Caspian gave me inspiration for my Arthurian Legend series. Amazing Grace made me want to research and write something about the fight against the slave trade but that's on a far back burner. Two TV series (I'm not naming them because I don't recommend them) gave me political inspiration which has proved useful in writing my Science fantasy series.
And several Japanese, Korean and Chinese movies and dramas have hugely inspired me.

I love the Lord of the Ring movies too. Epic is another very cute movie that inspires me as a writer (though I don't know if I've got story ideas from it) and I really like Maleficent too.

Definitely Lord of the Rings! The Narnia movies are also fun (although I personally think they absolutely ruined Prince Caspian- the rotten behavior of Peter and Caspian, and the uncalled for castle assault with the following blame game were extremely disappointing). I normally feel the most inspired after watching action movies, although I also enjoy a good mystery. One of my favorite shows to watch is "Jeopardy!" simply because you can learn so many interesting facts... although it's often disappointing to see the terrible naivete of people on the occasions when they have a Bible round. I would like to see an all-Bible Jeopardy... with categories like "Martyrs," "Geography," "What's in a name?" or "Name the Book." There's a host of other possibilities- anyway, that's a dream I don't think I'll have the chance to see realized any time soon. Another favorite is Mary Poppins- it's especially interesting to watch after reading the books- they are- um- very interesting.

I LOVE LOTR!!!!! And I've only read the books!!!! I want to watch the first Hobbit for my fourteenth birthday in July, so Mom and Dad are thinking about it. A good movie is called Seasons of Grey, (nothing to do with Fifty Shades of Grey). It is a Christian modern telling of the story of Joseph. Definetely not for younger watchers, I would suggest teenagers only. It has thematic elements, such as the 'Joseph' getting sent to prison for falsely being accused of assaulting his bosses wife. It really impacts you and makes you see the real story of Joseph in a new way after seeing it played out in modern times. Comic relief makes it not too serious. Definetly a good watch. By the way if any of you have watched Beyond the Mask the actor who plays William Reynolds is the guy who plays the Joseph character. When I want o be inspired, I actually listen to music. Mostly songs by Emily Black, written for her father, Chuck Black's book series.
