Hey, does anybody have an idea for a name of a character in my book I'm working on, the one called Dawn? I'll give you a full description - Young woman, twenty-nine years old. Strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, sharp cheekbones, and a pointed chin. On the good side of the battle, excellent with the bow and arrow. Lost her parents because of the bad guy before he became the bad guy, Xenothe. Her sister was killed a year ago in the current fight against Xenothe. Bent on revenge on Xenothe, determined, at points angry and snappish. Perceptive of people and human nature. Hates dishonesty, loves the stars. Generally distant and un-responsive, but she has a soft spot, (not the falling in love kind of soft spot) for another young man in the rebellion named Kenning. She is only seven years older, but treats him like a son. When Catlin joins the uprising, she is doubtful at first, then extremely protective when they discover Catlin holds the secret. At some point in the story, maybe in the second book, she might fall in love with a guy who is actually on the bad side and betrays them, but then becomes good. (I can hardly stand having love stories not work out, but I think I'll have to put another love story in my trilogy where the girl dies. It can't be all happy endings.)

The name that comes to mind is Samantha, but it depends what type of other names you have. Like, do you have mostly very fantasy sounding names, or also some that sound like real names in our world?

Here's a site I like to use with names. www.20000-names.com You can separate names by gender and pick a nationality if you are going for a certain theme in your book. Also, Abrianna is a cool name.

SierraJoanne, most of my names are slightly fantasy sounding. Not total fantasy, but not normal names either. Catlin, Kenning, Trace, Caden, Nirya... names like that. The most normal ones are probably Bella and Emile. Thanks for the website Hope, it helped. Abrianna is cool, I might do a slight variation of that. Alright, for a bad guy's name does Xenothe or Xenos sound better. They are both said with a long 'o' sound, the endings are just different. This is not the real bad guy's name, but the name he gave to the people, and that everyone knows him by Lord Xenothe, or Lord Xenos? Thanks for the suggestions!

Hey Hope, I saw on Twitter that box you bought for your story inspiration treasures. I do the same thing, and I have a small treasure chest I keep my shiny things in, but my collection is growing, (it's amazing what you can find in your mom's button box!) and I need a bigger box. Where did you get yours? Oh, and by the way I would love to sit down and go over everything in that box twenty times over. It all looks so cool!

Anne, I would suggest Lord Xenos. It just sounds more... villainy to me, I guess. ;D And if you're still in need of names, I'd recommend fantasynamegenerators.com

Anna of Lothlorien Yes, I've been wanting a treasure box for awhile. I don't think I ever outgrew 'I love everything that his shiny stage' I bought the box at the 'antique mall' outside Warsaw. It's cool (the mall, not the box), because it has a bunch of different tables from different people and there are all kinds of things there. One never knows what one will find.

Anne, I would suggest the name "Regina." To me it sounds kind of hard, but it can also sound kind and gentle. It means "queen."

Thanks for the suggestion and the websites everyone. I still haven't come up with a name, but i know I want it to start with an 'R' I will use Xenos. What is the name of that antique mall, and what street is it on, if you know, Hope?
