Here's one of my favourites: "A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting." ~ Henry David Thoreau

Here's one that would be classified under 'reader quotes' more than 'writer quotes' but I still think it's funny.
"I find the television very educational. Every time someone turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book." - Groucho Marx

Here's one that can be applied to more than writing, but I've definitely applied it to writing. "When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." -Thomas Jefferson

I can't remember where this one was from, but: "A man who writes 30 characters has written 30 moods of himself."

Yeah, that's about right, Writefury. Here's one that will be going into one of my books... someday... it is definitely inspirational! A bazillion ideas run through my head every time I hear it. "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." -Mark Twain
